Dave Tkachuk
A Word from Dave
All of my working career I've relied on proper documentation to get our products manufactured and systems installed and programmed right-the-first-time, and on time. Throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's, while working in the field, I was responsible for creating all of the project's electronic design and engineering documentation. It was quite a challenge to get all of the drawings cleanly layed out, complete and accurate, while getting them finished on time. Without good design and engineering, a project can never be completed effectively or efficiently. Nowhere is this more evident than in our industry with its many sub-system disciplines and constantly changing requirements and deadlines.
Throughout those years I've found my true passion in developing and constantly refining the design and engineering drawing environment. Now we're excited to offer those many years of experience and hard work in a full-featured, do-it-yourself Visio template package, "Engineering Complete A/V". Or, if you prefer, we can provide the documentation for you. In either case, with great documentation in-hand, your company will experience vastly improved project communication, fewer surprises on the job-site, and a higher level of quality and efficiency in your installations and programming. And one other surprise you will be happy with; a much improved bottom line. Shouldn't that be what your company is all about?
Dave's Bio
Dave's life has always centered on electronics and music. In the 1970's Dave divided his time as an electrical engineer for a hi-tech bay-state corporation and audio engineer for a large Boston-based lighting and sound company. These experiences led him to start Audy Instruments Inc., a manufacturer of critically acclaimed professional audio mixing consoles. In 1979, he was hired as sound designer for the legendary folk group Peter, Paul, and Mary and has continued this relationship into the present. Since 1981 Dave has been deeply involved in the design and engineering of residential and commercial A/V systems including twenty years as president of Tkachuk Associates, a high-end systems integration company. He is the founder of Symbol Logic, providers of design and engineering solutions for system integrators. Dave has instructed installers, written articles and taught courses and workshops on whole-house electronic design and engineering. He is pleased to be serving as a CEDIA volunteer, past member of the CEDIA Designer Home Theater subject matter expert committee and presently co-chairman of the CEA/CEDIA systems documentation work group. Dave holds a B.S. in Physics, is Crestron and Lutron trained, is CTS certified and is a certified member of the Imaging Science Foundation and the Audio Engineering Society.
